A revitalized quartier, Saint-Henri, is a hub for like-minded creatives and businesses and home to an interesting legion of antique stores, coffee shops, public spaces and galleries. The RCA Building embodies Saint-Henri’s illustrious heritage and vibrant character.
Previously the site of the Berliner Gramophone Company, and much later of the famed RCA Victor factory and studio, its storied history is of musical pioneers and industrial prowess. Today it houses the Emile Berliner musée des ondes, a must-see gem, as well as numerous knowledge- based businesses.
Re-energized, with a visual identity signed by Caserne, this year SOUK brings new additions and changes, with a key one being the long-awaited admission of children to the marketplace. A children’s corner, peppered with whimsical creations from designers participating in this year’s event aims to engage through imaginative play.
Additionally, teaming up with Dezeen as a media partner, SOUK unveils original and thought-provoking talks and panels around design thinking, curated by the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA).
A pop-up restaurant concocted by Montreal’s inimitable Nicolas Fonseca, and staged by the multidisciplinary design workshop Machine, will serve a delectable menu by Comptoir Rhubarbe and coffee by St-Henri’s Escape.
Underlining the festive ambiance is a smart take on the classic lounge curated by special guests Élément de base. Visitors are invited to have a drink, explore, mingle and share in a sophisticated, contemporary backdrop, while a stellar dj line-up drops 5 à 9 beats.
