SOUK #20 | PROGRAMMING – SOUK

SOUK #20 | PROGRAMMING

November 4, 2025

Montréal, November 4, 2025 – A curated mix of pop-up lounge, kids design playground, engaging workshops, thought-provoking panels, and a spectacular anniversary party set the stage for an unforgettable celebration of community and creativity.

For its landmark 20th edition, SOUK invites us into a sensory journey that celebrates two decades of design, collaboration, and community. Anchored by this year’s storytelling thread, Shaping Legacy, the programming reimagines what it means to gather, create, and remember, returning to the city’s own birthplace in the Old Montreal for this milestone celebration.

This year’s SOUK unfolds in Old Montreal’s Haleco building, a new model for sustainable, community-driven urban living. With resplendent views over Farine Five Roses, Silo #5, the Lachine Canal, and the city’s historic heart, Haleco offers both legacy, possibility, and a functional blank canvas where design can take center stage. Stepping inside, visitors will find not only an exhibition, but a living reflection of Montreal: where heritage meets innovation and where two decades of creativity, emotion, and connection are celebrated in every detail.

At its heart, SOUK #20 is about connection: weaving together past and present, creators and visitors, senses and emotion. Each installation, partnership, and collaboration is a living fragment of SOUK’s story and an invitation to feel, to remember, and to imagine what’s next for Montreal’s creative community. Visitors will be encouraged to slow down, tune in, and rediscover design as an act of gathering, awakening every sense and every part of our shared story.

Programming throughout the week is crafted to cultivate community, spark exchange, and celebrate the evolution of design in Montreal. Over 65 designers, from emerging talents to established names, will showcase an eclectic range of works curated by this year’s distinguished jury members. This diverse selection promises something for every taste and budget, highlighting innovation, craftsmanship, and imagination. An Alumni Installation will offer a heartfelt tribute to designers who have each uniquely contributed their story, perspective, and creative spark over the past two decades and while none alone define SOUK’s identity today, together they reflect the collective passion and evolution that have shaped the fair.

Guests can find moments of sensory calm in Chimie’s immersive scent workshop, led by Heather Peat, where fragrance and storytelling intertwine, and the Rituals installation highlights the thoughtful presence of objects and design, inviting reflection through a blend of light, sound, and form. The spirit of conversation and creativity will animate every corner with the In Conversation series fostering dialogue across design, architecture, and gastronomy, while the children and adults alike are welcomed into a hands-on Souk studio, discovering collaboration and invention

The SOUK Apéro signé Laïka, the birthplace of Montreal’s creative daytime-to-late-night culture, will set the tone with daily DJ sets, signature cocktails, and an atmosphere rich in nostalgia and spontaneous collaboration. The Élément de Base lounge, inviting visitors to relax and immerse themselves in a scenography where timeless design and sustainability meet, will offer the perfect backdrop for gatherings. Bloomfield’s culinary pop-up led by chef Caroline Dumas will offer a menu inspired by the intersection of taste, design, and emotion, while Café Pista’s sensorial coffee experience will connect each guest to the legacy of local craftsmanship and ritual.

Throughout the week surprise activations and pop-ups will enliven the atmosphere, building towards the grand Anniversary Party curated by Laïka on Friday, November 28.
