After twenty years of weaving through Montréal’s creative landscape — from industrial lofts to historic buildings — SOUK takes place to where the city itself was born: Old Montreal. Here, between the Lachine Canal and the St. Lawrence River, design finds its rhythm again — surrounded by symbols of transformation and resilience. The Lachine Canal, once the artery of industry, now flows beside new forms of creation. The Farine Five Roses sign, a beacon of Montréal’s craftsmanship, watches over a new generation of makers. The Silo #5, silent yet monumental, reminds us that even spaces once dormant can be reimagined.
This year’s edition unfolds within the Haleco building, a collaborative project by Cogir, La Caisse and Pomerleau — a space that embodies sustainability, community, and inclusion. More than architecture, Haleco represents a shift in how we think about urban life: one that integrates creativity into everyday living.
But beyond the structure itself lies a choice rooted in intention. For its 20th edition, SOUK sought a space that could recede into the background — that didn’t impose its own story.
Concrete floors. Expansive light. A view that stretches toward the canal. The simplicity of the setting becomes its strength — a space without distraction, ready to host ideas, encounters, and emotions. Within its walls, the creative energy of SOUK takes center stage once again — transforming a blank canvas into a living archive of design.
Presenting SOUK for the first time in Old Montreal is more than geographical; it’s symbolic. It connects the SOUK’s creative journey to Montréal’s own — both stories of renewal, resilience, and community.
As visitors step inside, they’ll find not just an exhibition, but a reflection of the city itself: where craftsmanship meets contemporary vision, and where design continues to shape legacy — two decades of creativity, emotion, and connection.
