Over the last two decades, more than 800 designers have passed through the SOUK, each bringing their own story, perspective, and creative spark. From emerging talents to established professionals, these designers have collectively shaped the very essence of Montréal’s design culture.
Some appeared for a fleeting moment, while some left a lasting imprint that continues to define who we are. As we mark our 20th edition, we celebrate 20 visionaries—designers who have not only helped shape the SOUK but have also contributed to Montréal’s evolving creative landscape. Their influence reaches beyond their work: they have challenged us, inspired dialogue, and compelled the SOUK to adapt and grow in response to what they brought to the table.
Many have returned year after year, restlessly innovating, refining, and reimagining their craft. Their evolution mirrors our own journey—one defined by curiosity, resilience, and a shared commitment to authenticity, creativity, and a collective legacy.
Their courage to reinvent themselves keeps the SOUK alive, pushing us to nurture a platform that celebrates risk-taking and vision.
For some, the SOUK was the very first stage where they introduced their work to the world—a moment of vulnerability and promise, where imagination met audience. They once walked our aisles as visitors, dreaming of the day they might present their creations. Witnessing their early dreams evolve beyond the SOUK into enduring creative legacies has been one of our greatest privileges.
Today, many of these designers have built celebrated careers, while some—still in the early stages of their journey—are already leaving a mark on the industry through their creativity and vision. They continue to inspire a new generation—mentors, innovators, and visionaries guiding those who now stand where they once stood. Their stories are intertwined with ours, reminding us why the SOUK exists: to nurture creativity, foster community, and shape legacy.
